It’s called a c-spine collar. If you’ve got a broken neck, turning your head could sever your spinal cord completely, which would end you. So until they get an x-ray of the cervical spine (and possibly surgery), you get a c-spine collar.
I’m not sure what you mean by “chest compression thingie.” Possibly defibrillation pads? Those would be big stickers, wired to a defibrillator, probably slapped on under his shirt. That’s to shock him in case he goes into cardiac arrest.

Nah man I mean like this weird vest thing people were wearing in the ref photos. It’s mostly a smooth white fabric looking thing but the shoulders were gray velcro straps, IDK!
I figured the logic behind the neck brace was something like that! Also, glad you enjoy the comic :D
poor hugh, he misses orev´s presence in his mind….and call me naive, but i *still* hope that orev is floating around somewhere, weakened but alive.
