Updates currently happen on Mondays and Fridays thanks to Inksgiving rewards on the Tapas mirror, visit this post for more scheduling information.
Support me on Patreon and read pages ahead of everyone else for as little as $1 a month. Have you heard about my Private art lessons?
WOW so the results of Inksgiving over on Tapas were INSANE! Clearly the goals I set next year need to be way higher. It was a good idea, though, it really sparked my motivation to work on this comic faster, at least for a little while.
I’m actually writing this before Inksgiving is over but I can already promise tons of extra updates. Merry early Christmas? For the next month or so we’ll be updating on Monday as well! Enjoy the extra pages!
EDIT: I SPELLED VEGETARIAN WRONG AND NOBODY TOLD ME
cue romance trope of Hugh either cooking for Luke, or attempting to teach Luke to cook
So when Hugh says he can cook does he mean Soma Yukihira or Walter White?
Also: dude is correct. Cooking (basic stuff) is incredibly easy. Just throw basically any meat and veggies on a pan, apply heat, watch YT on your phone, eat.
Watch YT? Seriously? If I would follow that recipe I wouldn’t be able to scrape it from the pan, much less eat.
Also, usually you cook in pot, not pan, and there is either water or oil involved.
Um, I also usually cook in a pan and listen to youtube at the same time. I think you’re being too judgey.
@HKMaly
I never used recipes for years. I would just buy whatever was cheap / new, cut it up, and just throw it on a pan alongside the meat. Make some rice / potatoes on the side.
Then I got 4 free weeks of Hello Fresh or something and… yea, it was identical to what I was already doing.
Not sure about the scraping. I, of course, use oil to prevent sticking and keep an eye on the food while watching YT.
And aside from sauces and soup, everyone uses pans way more. Except, ironically, Hugh.
I think it’s the “keep an eye on the food” part that you’re underestimating your inherent skill level compared to some of us poor scrubs who don’t know what we’re doing. As for me, I too use a pot more than a pan, because the only thing I know how to cook is noodles
Exactly. What I was commenting about was that if I started watching youtube I would fail to keep an eye on the food.
(And I’m probably replying too late for it to still be relevant, but just in case …)
@friendlymosquito and @HKMaly
But like, its not a skill issue because I don’t have any cooking skills. I don’t use recipes or techniques. You can’t be a poor scrub next to me because that would mean you burn water.
Basic cooking requires literally no skills. Grab meat, toss raw on to a “GreenLife Diamond Healthy Nonstick” (highest rated pan on Consumer Reports and 20$) coated in oil you smeared around with a 1/4th of a paper towel. Medium-high heat. Cut up carrots, celery, peppers, brussel sprouts, whatever. Dump in pan. Watch YT. Once meat is not raw dump on plate. Cover with lemon juice and 99-cent store spices. If fancy use 1/4th a Progresso soup as sauce. Put soup can in fridge.
I hold my phone almost in front of the pan so I have it in my peripheral vision. Sometimes I put on a timer at 4 minutes intervals.
Yes, I cook salads.
You’re not a gargoyle, incidentally…?
(Rooftops & Roommates: Another fun read, with a protagonist known for microwaving his salad!)
Supernaturals seem to have a thing with that!
Ooh I better check this out.
Also Hugh still doesn’t consider microwaving to be cooking xD
