Please take a minute to vote for Roomie over on TopWebcomics, where I said I’d be posting periodic updates on my senior project but so far have been too lazy to do that

MARY IS A STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMAN WHO DON’T NEED NO MAN
That top panel sucked to draw and I probably shoulda used some kind of reference but ehhhhh too late now
I hope that fire looks more like fire and it only took me stealing a picture off the internet to trace over. Not sorry
Way to go, Mary! I knew she would try to get away from him. Maybe it’s just me, but I recall her either speaking about knowing self-defense techniques or actually demonstrating said techniques. That’s why I thought she had kneed him, but then I realized he was behind her. What I should have said was that it looked like she had elbowed him in the gut or something. I think Orev might show up now that Shaqr is throwing fire around. Literally. I just looked back at her face in the last panel here. LOL It’s hilarious. She didn’t see that coming, huh? LOL Well, there’s only so much a mortal human can do, I suppose. He totally underestimated her. I can’t wait to see what happens in next week’s page.
Uhhh she doesn’t know that much self defense you probably imagined it XD
Glad you’re enjoying the page!
Durn right she doesn’t know much about defense. Or how to engage in Mortal Kombat.
When you opponent is dazed and weak you
!!!FINISH HIM!!!!
*Dude this is nothing like Mortal Kombat….
Demon from not-hell shoots a fire ball and yells at her to get over here.
PFFFFF
Huh? Yeah, I just reread chapter one. Maybe I thought one of her classes was a self-defense class. LOL I did notice a bit of foreshadowing, though. I suppose I should have realized that Hugh was possessed by a demon. I also reread up to the start of the scene where they sensed another demon. Qadira was just about to explain where demons come from/are made of. I want to know more. I will try to be patient, though. :)
I have some questions I’ve been meaning to ask you, though. Obviously, Orev sounds like Or-ehv. And Zev sounds like Zehv. But how do you pronounce Shaqr? Is it like Shack-ur? Or Shaker? Or something else? Also, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of the name Qadira. Is that pronounced like Kuh-deer-uh? I know they’re silly questions because it’s all written and not spoken, but I want to make sure I’m reading it right. You know what I mean?
Also, when are Bill, Mikayla, and the landlady going to make another appearance? So far, I’ve counted two new characters in this chapter. Just how many characters do you have in mind? I’m just curious. In QC, it started with just two main characters. Well, three, if you’re counting Pintsize the robot. Now, Jeph Jacques’ webcomic has at least five robot main characters and at least eight human main characters, I think. I kind of estimated because I can’t really remember how many exactly. Too many to count, apparently. LOL. Anyway, he started writing it in 2003 and it’s way better than it was when he started on it. And I don’t just mean the artwork. Anyway, I’m not trying to advertise it or anything. I was just using it for comparison. If anyone decides to read Questionable Content, though, I would recommend not reading any of the guest strips or anything other than the main story comic pages. I never really thought any of the other strips were any good. But the main story is great. It’s already at 3600 pages, but that includes guest strips and mini comics. That being said, I think it took me three or four months to finally catch up on it.
Anyway, sorry if I rambled on too much. Roomie is doing great. Keep up the good work! I can’t wait to see what happens in the rest of this chapter.
So Orev and Zev are Hebrew and Shaqr is either also Hebrew or Arabic, either way I probably don’t pronounce any of them right: “Or-rev” “Zehv” “Sha-ker” is how I say it in my head.
Qadira is a real name, it’s the female version of Qadir which is a semi popular Muslim name I think maybe if I remember right. I pronounce it “Ka-dear-rah” but the internet probably knows.
Between Bill, the landlady, and Mikayla, one of them is coming back (very soon, in fact). I’m glad you remember them! But actually, in typical webcomic cliche, this story has too many frikin characters. Sorry. I don’t always intend to use them again when I throw them in, but I make an entry on the character page in case I change my mind later.
That’s okay. When I was still catching up on QC, there was a sort of inside joke about what Steve was doing. Apparently, the main character’s best friend Steve from the beginning of the story just kind of drifted in and out of the comic, so to speak. So, the fans kept emailing the author and he decided to answer their questions with a page about Steve. In at least one page, Steve was just eating cereal in his T-shirt and boxers. LOL In other pages, Steve kept running into an old flame/friend from his days as a spy. LOL So, I totally understand what you mean. Sometimes, it’s hard to fit certain characters into the story line after they’ve been gone for so long. I mean, sometimes new characters only get one or two scenes and that’s it.
Anyway, great webcomic. I look forward to reading it over the next few years or however long it takes for you to finish it. I’ve been following it every week since March, I think. I’m not sure how I found out about it. I usually find out about webcomics through the comments section of another webcomic I read. Sometimes, people share their own webcomic by including the website for it next to their name. Also, I sometimes add webcomics from links in the post for a guest strip. I’m hoping that some of them will provide some inspiration for my potential webcomic someday. So far, I’m thinking Monsterkind, Alice Grove, Eth’s Skin, and maybe even Girl Genius could help me come up with some more ideas for my webcomic. I suppose I should start brainstorming again soon. I was so busy all week that I just wanted to relax this weekend.
