In other news, I got real physical comics printed for Chapter 1 of Roomie! (and another thing). And, like, having a real minicomic to pawn off to people is great, but I kinda wish Chapter 1 turned out better… Oh well… Even if I can’t get rid of them now, maybe some day Roomie will be really popular and then people will really want these. (Just gotta, you know, get better at writing first).
“Hey, are you kidnapping me because of a demon thing or a normal thing?”
“…”
“Aw, normal thing. I should probably call the police.”
uh-oh, this does not bode well…..also, you don´t have to fret constantly over the quality of your backgrounds and whatnot. its the story that counts! heck, one of my favourite comics out there, The Bright Side, started as old fashioned pen on paper with little shading, and has only recently developed some grey ;-)
as long as its recognisable whats happening i´m good
(as i´m typing this i´m glaring at the add of ‘supermassive black hole A’ – which might have an interesting plot but you can hardly see whats happening. now *thats* frustrating. i gave up reading after about 50 pages because it gave me a headache)
Awwwwwww thank you. I think my standards are just too high for my own good. Thanks, your words were reassuring uwu
Hmm I should check out The Bright Side
Micah, your writing is already great. I’ve been thinking about making a webcomic for about a year now, but I cannot seem to get past the world-building phase. I don’t have any ideas for characters, plots, settings, a script, etc. I hope to make a webcomic as good as yours someday. I just wish I could get past my writer’s block. Agh.
WOW that’s so nice of you :O I’m flattered. <3 <3 <3
Email me at micahamundsen@gmail.com and we can talk further about this. I’d be happy to set up a skype date or something and explain my process and impart my wisdom
I’ll keep that in mind. I prefer email, though. I’m better with words on paper, so to speak, in my opinion. Plus, email gives me more time to think over what I want to say. Maybe I’ll send you an email tomorrow sometime. I’m not usually busy on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. I’m on Pacific Time, though, so it might be in the evening for you. You’re in Minnesota, if I remember correctly? I’ve never been there before.
Anyway, just as a little preview, I guess I would say my webcomic idea is of the science fiction and/or fantasy genre and is set either in the future or in another galaxy or both. I haven’t quite narrowed down the setting for it yet. I would also say that it’s very LGBTQ-centric with an emphasis on gender identities, specifically non-binary identities. I would say more, but I’m worried someone else would read this and attempt to steal my ideas.
