Ever wonder why Ash's Pikachu seems to reset in level every time he explores a new region? This mechanic emulates that.
If your group plays a campaign for long enough, power creep will come into play. Numbers will get too high, Battling will take forever, and you may decide it's time for a fresh start.
This mechanic is relatively simple. It's best you spend a full session Out of Character discussing this process with your entire group.
How to Prestige:
- Reset your trainer's stats to what they were at creation
- Reset all your Pokémon's levels to 1, 2, or 3.
- Now for the fun part... You can write a new, unique, custom Action for your trainer and for one of your Pokémon. By this point, you should have a good idea of how actions work and what would be useful to you. The sky's the limit! But be sure to get approval from your GM before you begin the next session.
